The Conway Practice Can Help With Your Fear Of Blushing*

lose-weight-brighton-hoveYou may have arrived at the point in your life when you have decided you really need to find someone in Highgate who can help with your fear of blushing. We all blush, but for some this can affect their quality of life.

You may feel that people will make fun of you if you blush, so you find yourself avoiding social functions where you believe you will be watched. In fact generally speaking, people aren’t likely to take pleasure in your embarrassment and would be supportive if you allowed them.

The fear of blushing (Elythrophobia) is far more common than you may think and you’re certainly not alone with the problem. It’s a complex phobia and may be combined with social anxiety and a general anxiety phobia (GAD). It can be self-perpetuating; the more concerned you are about blushing the more you increase the occasions when it happens. If your brain is focused on the stress of blushing the frequency will increase considerably, leaving you trapped in a vicious circle.

How does this happen? Our flight or fight response, which we all experience at times, is triggered by our nervous system. Adrenaline floods through the body, resulting in a physical reaction. This can increase the heart rate and adrenaline, which is also known as epinephrine, widens certain blood vessels. When the facial veins become temporarily wider, blushing is the side effect.

If your fear of blushing is linked to a social anxiety disorder, this may be caused through irrational fears that are buried within past experiences, perhaps from when you were a child, relating to how you were conditioned to cope with fear. The trigger for blushing is likely to vary greatly for each person and identifying it is the key.

Through hypnotherapy and NLP sessions in Highgate you can learn how to let go of the belief that everyone is thinking less of you or making a negative judgement*.

You can be helped to increase your level of self-confidence and learn to relax*. Even something as simple as releasing tension, especially in your neck and shoulders is likely to make a significant difference, allowing the redness to fade. It’s also important to understand that most people won’t even notice when you blush unless you draw attention to it.

Jonathan Conway, a qualified hypnotherapist, NLP Master Practitioner & NLP Coach with over 18 years’ experience, will show you how to control your anxiety and help you to understand why you blush, enabling you to retrain your subconscious mind to accept that it’s quite normal and that no one will judge you for it*.
