Overcome a fear of public speaking with hypnotherapy and NLP*

public-speakingDo you become extremely anxious at the very thought of speaking in public? We speak of ‘drying up’ during a speech and in fact a physical reaction to a psychological issue is often a dry mouth caused by anxiety.

A combination of hypnotherapy and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), has a high success rate in resolving a fear of public speaking*.

The dry mouth symptom can be addressed for  instance during hypnosis simply by learning a different way of relaxed breathing during periods of stress*.

Reducing high adrenalin levels which naturally occur during a ‘flight or fight’ situation will also help considerably. During relaxing hypnotherapy and NLP sessions with Jonathan at the Conway Practice, in order to address the physical reactions the root cause of your fears will be identified, enabling you to begin your personal anxiety strategy programme*.

Your fear is unlikely to be limited to speaking in public and you might panic if you are expected to give a business presentation or answer questions during an interview. This may limit your progress within your career if however well you prepare beforehand, your anxious state of mind prevents you from performing to your true potential.

Although some people have had to deal with this fear since childhood, it’s also common for the problem to develop after a bad experience when a speech or a sales pitch has failed. The subconscious mind recalls the negative situation and visualises it happening again. You may find yourself doing your utmost to avoid situations where you will be expected to speak, to the extent where you steer clear of even social events where you know you will have to communicate with strangers.

Hypnotherapy and NLP will help you to feel confident and relaxed, enabling you to engage with others without worrying that you will forget your words or say the wrong thing*.

Once you understand how your nervous energy can be channelled into positive energy, you will be able to overcome your fear of public speaking and win your audience over*.
